Howlett is pinching himself after award
TERRY Howlett admits he is still “pinching himself” after being crowned as Tendring’s Male Sports Personality for 2013.
The hockey stalwart has had a golden 12 months, including helping England’s over-70s grand masters become European champions.
It brought his impressive tally to two golds and two silvers in World Cups and five golds and one silver in the European competition.
And as a result of his latest success, he was rewarded for his exploits by winning one of the top awards at last Thursday’s sports awards, at Clacton Town Hall.
The 70-year-old said: “I’m still pinching myself."
