Carmichael determined to put a positive spin on postponements
HARWICH and Parkeston boss Matt Carmichael is confident the rain will not wash away his side’s title chances.
The Shrimpers have a six-point lead at the top of the Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League but have only played once in 2014.
Relentless wet weather keeps ruining their chances of playing and the most recent postponement was last week’s premier division fixture at AFC Barnston.
Ironically, Harwich are not due to play tomorrow anyway, as scheduled opponents Gas Recreation are in Essex Premier Cup action at Kelvedon Hatch.
However, Carmichael is adamant that despite not playing, his side can still finish the job and push for promotion.
“It’s frustrating and hugely inconvenient,” said the former Shrimpers player.
“We’d built up momentum and just want to start playing again.
“But we’re all in the same boat and I don’t think it will have too much impact on the rest of our season."
