HARWICH Amateur Boxing Club are set to host their third and final show of the 2013/14 season.

Tomorrow’s spectacle will take place at the Park Pavilion, in Barrack Lane.

Topping the bill will be Eastern Counties elite champion John Wheatley, who faces old foe Liam Goodjohn, of Haddenham Boxing Club.

The pair will meet over three three-minute rounds.

Wheatley beat Goodjohn on points last month, so his opponent will be out for revenge.

There will also be a small team of boxers competing from the Netherlands.

Several of the club’s junior boxers will be on show, with a couple making their ring debuts.

Club head coach Martin Webb said: “This is a grass-roots boxing show in the true sense of the word.

“We’re grateful to have Harrison Heating Solutions sponsoring the event, but still need enough spectators to turn out to make it viable financially.

“It really is a great chance for our club to showcase some of the upcoming talent on our own doorstep. We hope the local community turn out in force and give their support to this event and the boxers from Harwich.”

The show is scheduled to host up to 15 contests, with doors opening from 1pm and boxing starting at 2pm.

Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s. For more information, contact 07946 466857.
