HARWICH Runners are preparing for a challenging start to the new cross-country season.
The club begin their campaign at Great Notley Country Park, near Braintree.
It is the first of six races in the 53-12 Cross-County League.
And with its steep hill, which athletes must tackle twice, it represents a baptism of fire for all those going for glory.
“The big hill makes it one of the most challenging courses we face,” said Harwich chairman Peter Gooding.
“But it’s something we’re really looking forward to and I know our members will give their all, as they always do, whether competing or organising."
