CHASE Lane retained their title of indoor athletic champions at a local schools’ event.

The contest saw schools competing in both the morning and afternoon and was hosted by Harwich and Dovercourt High School.

Events spanned running, throwing and jumping disciplines and there were 24 individual events over the course of the competition, for both boys and girls.

Chase Lane won 20 of the 24 titles available and now retain their title of champions, which they have had since this event was introduced into the sporting calendar seven years ago.

This win also qualifies the Dovercourt school through to the regional finals, where they will take on the best the rest of the region has to offer and also hopefully retain their current title of regional champions, too.

If they can do this, they will once again go through to the Essex Youth Games county finals, taking place in March.
