LITTLE Oakley joint-boss Paul Sadler says his players will relish the chance to “blow away cobwebs” in tomorrow’s trip to Boxted Lodgers.
The Acorns have had a frustrating start to the year, with key matches postponed.
Wet weather put paid to their crunch match at home to reigning champions Gas Recreation, on January 3.
And the same fate befell last weekend’s eagerly-awaited match at title-chasing West Bergholt.
“January was supposed to be the month that defined our season, but with those games being postponed we’re none the wiser,” said Sadler.
“Our players were geared up and prepared for both games and for both to be cancelled on the day was very disappointing.
“The majority of our senior players have been training regularly since our last game on December 20.
“But we’re undoubtedly lacking that bit of match fitness.”
