SQUIRRELS and Hanover A both took the opportunity to make up ground at the top of the Harwich Men’s League.
With leaders Ind Coope A on a bye, both sides – second and third respectively – knew they had a chance to close the gap at the top of the A division.
Both sides had big wins, as Squirrels beat The Maybush 7-1.
Ian Lord prevented a whitewash for The Maybush, winning the last game as he beat the in-form Mick Cocks.
Squirrels’ Paul Raffle had a 120 finish.
Third-placed Hanover won all the games against depleted Little Oakley, who only had five players, and Mark Jiggins and Matt Good both scored 180s.
