ELEVEN Harwich Runners competed at four different Parkruns.

There was a hat-trick of age-group wins for the trio of club members among a record field of 91 at a muddy Great Cornard.

Richard Flutter, seventh overall in 18 minutes and 32 seconds, brought the first black and white vest home for a male vet (MV) 45-49 age-group win.

He was followed by Bill Haining (ninth, in 18m 57s), who was first in the MV55-59 years, and Elspeth Knott (29th, in 23m 11s), a clear winner of the F60-64 category.

Meanwhile, four members opted for Castle Park, in Colchester.

The first Harwich Runner back to the bandstand was Hannah Jarvis, recording 22m 5s for fourth female overall.

Just behind was Dennis Warner (22m 10s, for 48th place) setting his quickest course time for 18 months and narrowly missing out on second place in the MV55-59 category by one second.

Carrie Hook (23m 30s, eighth female) continued the string of excellent performances.

Accompanied by partner Mark Lloyd, she was spurred on to set a 51-second course best and duly won the VF40-44 category.

There was another large field in Ipswich.

Gary Parker beat his previous best time, set last week, by five seconds in 19m 17s, for ninth place.

Jonathan Burls completed his 14th Parkrun, finishing 89th in 24m 24s, and was followed home by Ben Hammond, accompanying his young son in 98th.

Ian Cannons travelled to Brentwood.

He finished in 17th place, in 24m 51s, and was third in the VM40-44 category.
