DUCKPOND FC 5

Colchester and District Sunday Premier League

DUCKPOND are closing in on third place in the premier division after this emphatic win.

They dominated throughout, with Jamie Eades, at the heart of their impressive defence, a clear man-of-the-match.

Matt Geen opened the scoring from the spot, after Daryl Hinks’ cross was deliberately handballed.

Michael Hammond then started the move for goal number two in his own half, finding skipper Phil Taylor.

He, in turn, fed Hinks, on the wing, whose perfect cross was met by Hammond to fire home.

Duckpond’s third goal was route one at its best.

Keeper Sam Felgate’s goal-kick was met by Geen’s neat touch to Hammond.

His first touch put Liam Duly through to round the keeper and score.

Some good football resulted in Ryan Smarts crossing and giving Hinks a simple tap-in.

Number five came when Geen lobbed the keeper from 18 yards, for his second of the game.

On Sunday, Duckpond are at Shrub End in the semi-final of the Charles Hewitt Memorial Knockout Cup against Langham United.

At stake is a place in the final against the winners of the AFC Pegusus versus FC Byair tie.
