SUNDAY SHRIMPERS 6
LANGHAM UNITED 0
Colchester and District Sunday League division one
SUNDAY Shrimpers kept up their challenge for the title, knowing victories from their games in hand will cement top spot.
The Shrimpers made a good start, with Lewis Wood rifling them into the lead.
Skipper Steve Lingley continued his scoring run by adding a second and with Wood netting again, the Shrimpers enjoyed a 3-0 half-time lead.
Langham fought hard in an effort to prevent the Shrimpers adding to their tally.
However, midway through the second half, Wood completed a fine hat-trick.
Shrimpers substitute Michael Palmer came on to score two well-taken goals and complete an emphatic victory.
On Sunday, the Shrimpers have a vital fixture when they entertain league leaders AFC Colchester at the Royal Oak (kick-off 10.30am).
