JANE Hurst and Viv Dale won the Ping four ball better ball competition at Harwich and Dovercourt Golf Club.
However, with poor scores all round, it is not expected that they will qualify for the next round of this national competition.
Linda Burrows and Pauline Rowe were second, on countback from Ruth Stapleton and Rose Wallace.
The club captain’s drive-in for the ladies’ section was won by Carol Wrayton, on countback from Dale.
Burrows finished third.
Chris Bradford won medal three, with Burrows second and Beryl Mathews third.
Medal five was won by Stapleton, with Burrows second and Bradford third.
A stableford competition was also won by Stapleton, with Dale second and Hurst third.
Meanwhile, many of the club’s ladies recently enjoyed an overnight stay and two rounds of golf at Ufford Park.
Hurst won the singles competition, on countback from Kate Fender.
Dale was third, on countback from Glynis Hutchence.
The high/low pairs competition was won by lady captain Burrows and vice-captain Georgina Grout.
The runners-up were Phyllis Boddy and Carol Wrayton.
