HARWICH and Dovercourt Golf Club’s ladies braved the blustery wind and squally showers to compete in their Spring Meeting.

The format was a high/low handicap combination, aggregate stableford.

Lady captain Linda Burrows and partner Carol Wrayton were the winners, with Rose Wallace and Phyllis Boddy second and Viv Dale and Chris Bradford third.

Wrayton also won the prize for nearest the pin. Gina Doyle took the prize for the nearest the line drive.

Other prizes on the day were awarded to Dale, winner of the winter nine-hole stableford competition, and runners-up Jane Hurst, Ruthie Stapleton and Beryl Mathews.

A team of six ladies took part in a friendly at Frinton.

In pleasant conditions, playing greensomes matchplay, Harwich won by two matches to one.

Sue Keen was the winner of medal four, on countback from Kate Fender, with Glynis Hutchence third.
