HARWICH Angling Club held the third in a series of 11 midweek evening matches on Bradfield Lake.

Every angler was keen to get started as fish activity could be seen all around the lake.

Everyone was soon putting fish into their nets.

When the whistle blew to end the match, there was a lot of interest from all anglers at the weigh-in as there had been plenty of decent catches.

In first place was John Pettitt, float fishing using the long pole from peg nine.

Fishing slightly over depth, with both dead and live maggots for hook bait and using small balls of ground bait at regular intervals, he weighed in with 9lbs 4ozs of roach, rudd, perch and skimmers.

Second place went to Laurie Snell, also float fishing with the pole from peg eight, with a weight of 6lbs 4ozs of roach, rudd, perch and hybrids.

Following in third with a weight of 5lbs was Con Keilty from peg three, also float fishing but using the rod with maggots as bait.

Junior member Liam Willis, on peg ten, weighed in the best specimen roach in the match.

Fishing with the rod and float, using maggots as hook bait, he landed a 1lb 1oz quality roach, in his 2lbs 12ozs total catch.
