FC Clacton took the bragging rights in their Thurlow Nunn premier division derby with Brantham Athletic.
Brantham went close to taking the lead on Tuesday night but Joe Fowler did well to save Sean Gunn’s effort from out wide, and then Ollie Mann fired into the side netting.
Just before half-time Brantham were reduced to ten men when Michael Brothers received a red card.
The Seasiders finally made the breakthrough when Aaron Condon headed home the winning goal on 85 minutes.
Stanway Rovers went goal-crazy against visiting Haverhill Rovers winning 6-1.
Stanway took the lead through Jordan Palmer before Ben Newson doubled their account.
After the break Jake Clowsley made it 3-0 for Stanway before Craig Hughes added a fourth.
Haverhill pulled a goal back but Newson then made it 5-1 with his second of the night.
Jamie Shaw then made it great night for Stanway as he scored the sixth and final goal of the evening.
In division one, Halstead Town beat visiting Cornard United 3-1.
Tom Holdstock put Halstead in front.
After the break, Jamie Chesney made it 2-0 to the Humbugs.
And then Holdstock made it 3-0 with his second.
But Cornard pulled a goal back after some sloppy defending to make it 3-1.
