TENDRING’S top sporting talent has been honoured at a special prize-giving ceremony.

The activetendring Tendring Sports Personality Awards were held at Clacton’s Princes Theatre.

Awards were handed out to individuals and teams who have enjoyed great success in 2015.

It proved another great night for Holland-on-Sea elite disability swimmer Suzanne Warren, who reclaimed her Female Sports Personality award.

Cricket veteran John Stuck won the Male category.

In the junior categories, the top prizes went to Rowan Lockyear (judo) and Emma Joslin (polocrosse).

Chase Lane Primary School’s girls’ football team were sports team of the year, while the sports club of the year were Frinton Cricket Club.

The Tendring Sports Personality Awards are supported by the Clacton, Frinton and Walton Gazette and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard.

Junior Male Sports Personality: 1 Rowan Lockyear, 2 Myles Ashforth, 3 Sam Hume.

Junior Female Sports Personality: 1 Emma Joslin, 2 Gracie Firkins, 3 Eloise Sneddon.

Sports team of the year: 1 Chase Lane Primary School’s girls’ football team, 2 Chase Lane Primary School’s athletics and cross-country team, 3 Clacton County High School’s year nine netball team.

Sports club of the year: 1 Frinton Cricket Club, 2 Little Clacton Tennis Club.

Sports coach of the year: 1 Paul Harris.

Unsung hero: 1 Derek Smith, 2 Helen Dix.

Education establishment: 1 Tendring Technology College PE department, 2= Chase Lane Nursery and Primary School, 2= Clacton County High School PE department.
