Sebastian Keczmerski, who has taken podium places at the last two Harwich Parkruns, showed his talent by finishing 32nd.

Robin Brookes had a steady run in 50th and the scoring team of eight was completed by Richard Flutter, running again after chemotherapy, Jason Meachen, taking part in his first cross-country race this season, and Bill Haining, returning from injury.

Other notable performances included a debut run for Michael Turner, while fellow newcomer Hugo Jardim could also be one to watch as he claimed 112th.

Ian Cannons was back to continue his run of cross-country appearances after injury while Julian Cordwell, Jeff Higgon, Tim Warner and Kieran Callaghan are yet to miss a cross-country race this season.

The men’s team were outscored by the other five teams in the pool and finished sixth.

There were six ladies from Harwich challenging among the small field of 73 runners.

Madeline Lewis was back after missing Halstead to once again finish as Harwich’s top lady, taking an excellent tenth place overall.

Completing the scoring quartet for Harwich was Elspeth Knott, in 29th, who was an age group winner (FV65), and Carrie Hook, in 32nd.
