AFTER a slow start to the year for Harwich Angling Club, the fish are stirring again at their water in Bradfield.

Recent visits have seen anglers rewarded with good mixed bags of roach, rudd, perch and bream.

Catches are coming to both waggler and feeder styles of fishing.

Harwich regular Rodger Campion captured a beautifully-conditioned 10lb 1oz common carp.

The fish, possibly the first carp this year from the water, fell to ledgered boilie and pellet close to the reeds.

This season’s club membership signing-on nights will be held at the United Services Club, in Barrack Lane, Dovercourt, on June 7 and 14, from 8pm until 9.30pm.

TEN members fished the latest Paxmans Angling Club OAPs match at the Decoy Lake, in Brantham.

Gus Lee was first, with 89lb 10oz, and he was followed by Eddie Marriot (39lb 10oz), Trev Manning (33lb 15oz) and Del Mansfield (29lb 1oz).
