LITTLE Oakley and District Wildfowlers were again victorious in the Essex Joint Council (EJC) shoot.

It means they have now won the competition - a team event for any club in the county - a record number of times.

The top five scores from each team are combined and the team with the highest score wins.

This event has been running since 1964 and Oakley Wildfowlers won it this year for a record 24th time, with a team score of 255.

They beat Rotchford into second place by just one clay.

This year there were over 120 individuals who attended and more than 12 teams.

As well as the team event, there is a trophy for the highest score overall.

This was won by Lewis Steed for a record seventh year in a row with a score of 55/60.

Former Oakley clay captain Brian Taylor sadly passed away early this year but would have been proud of his team's achievement.
