BROTHERS Paul and Rio Gordon looked to build on their recent good form in their respective elite and junior development championship fights.

The Harwich Boxing Club duo were competing in the national pre-quarter final round at Harlow.

Paul, 20, looked for his third win in as many weeks as he faced Vilius Alisauskas, from the renowned Repton Boxing Club in London.

Little separated the two in the opening session of the class A under-69k bout.

Paul settled into his rhythm more in the middle round, scoring from distance with well-timed shots.

The final round saw him unleash a seismic left uppercut that helped his cause no end on his way to secure a split points win.

Rio, 16, took on the taller Armando Goral, from White Hart Lane ABC.

The opening minute was fought at a furious pace as both boxers traded heavy hooks.

It was Rio's supreme desire and solid fitness level that was the telling factor as he pulled away in rounds two and three to score a well-deserved unanimous points win.

Both brothers now contest the national quarter-finals next weekend in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
