BRANTHAM ATHLETIC joint-bosses Michael Brothers and Matt Carmichael have completed their first signing - swooping for WIVENHOE TOWN midfielder Jack Clampin.

The former FC Clacton and Stanway Rovers man has agreed to join and is due to sign his paperwork tonight, with a view to making his debut against Great Yarmouth Town on Saturday.

"In signing Jack, we're getting a local, talented player," said Brothers, who left Clacton to take the reins at Brantham on January 5.

"He'll add great energy to our midfield and won't be afraid to get on the ball for us.

"Having played against him and had a couple of reports, we know he'll be a great addition both on and off the pitch, something myself and Matty believe is crucial to our philosophy for Brantham."

Clampin is looking forward to getting started and believes he can make a difference.

"I'm very happy to be signing for Brantham and looking forward to working with Michael and Matty," he said.

"The club are very much going in the right direction and I feel I can play a part in helping them move forward.

"I also feel this move will help me as a footballer personally and can't wait to get started."

Clampin will soon be coming up against one of his former sides, as Brantham head to Stanway on February 11.

The Imps also hope to have another new face in their squad for Saturday's match at the Leisure Centre.

Exciting youngster Ronnie Heather has signed on dual registration forms from Brightlingsea Regent.

The midfielder previously spent time with Brantham's Essex and Suffolk Border League neighbours, Harwich and Parkeston.
