MISTLEY Rugby Club eased to a 51-3 victory in their Eastern Counties League division two south match at home to Brightlingsea.

The visitors opened the scoring with a penalty, but Matt Course's long kick from the 22-metre line made it 3-3.

An excellent run from full-back Rob Bloom and good work from Reece Kirkham then led to another penalty, which was brilliantly converted by Course.

Superb forward play allowed Bloom to score the first try, making it 11-3.

Captain Nick Graves spurred his team on and Kyle Fox had another excellent game, while a scissors move involving Steve Betts allowed Course to stretch the lead to 16-3.

Brightlingsea fought back and Mistley were forced to defend well for 20 minutes.

Reece Kirkham picked up the ball to crash through and the try was converted by Course, making the half-time score 23-3.

Another brilliant drive from Mistley's pack led to Bloom scoring his second try under the post, duly converted for 30-3.

A long, high kick from Jesse Fearn was picked up by Connor Williams and he scored a converted try for 37-3.

Then a magnificent drive from prop Tom Rowe led to Course scoring.

He converted it to add to his side's impressive tally.

Dicky Johnson was forced off through injury before Fearn picked up the ball and crashed through to score another Mistley try.

Course converted to make the final score 51-3.
