HARWICH Boxing Club's Pat Allen Cripps continued his quest for national elite honours at Doncaster.
He faced a pre quarter-final contest against Jordan Rought, from Northside ABC in Sunderland.
Light heavyweight Allen Cripps set the tone for the bout with a crisp jab finding the mark in the opening seconds and he clearly won rounds one and two with his neat skills.
Rought loaded up with shots in the last, but the Harwich boxer kept his composure and skated out of any trouble to take a deserved unanimous points decision.
Nineteen-year-old Allen Cripps returns to Yorkshire on April 21 for finals weekend at Rotherham's Magna Centre.
Harwich also saw further action at the weekend in Newmarket, with junior Stevie Martin a little unfortunate to drop a split points decision to Harry Blackwell, from Chalvedon ABC.
