TWO Village Primary School triumphed for the third year running at an annual girls' football tournament.

The event was organised by Paul Bertram, with the help and support of Little Oakley Football Club and the Harwich and District Primary Schools Sports Association.

The matches were played on the club’s all-weather pitch.

The event was well-supported, with nine teams taking part, and the tournament started with teams playing in two leagues.

There were many close games and the standard was high.

The winners of the two leagues were Two Village and Chase Lane A and the runners-up were St Josephs and St Osyth.

In the semi-finals, St Osyth beat Chase Lane A and, in the second game, Two Village came back and won 3-1 against St Josephs.

In the third and fourth place play-off, Chase Lane beat St Josephs.

Through to the final were St Osyth and Two Village.

The teams had drawn against each other in the league and were very evenly matched.

At the final whistle, it was 2-0 to Two Village - meaning they won for the third year running.

Hannah Powell and Ellie Kadlec, members of the Two Village squad, were part of all three winning teams.

The referees decided that the player of the tournament was Natasha Ireland, of Spring Meadow, who is still only a year five pupil and can play next year.

The Two Village players were Hannah Powell, Ellie Kadlec, Ella Topple, Rose Allinson, Mia Williams and Millie Gooch.

Other teams taking part were Spring Meadow A and B, Wix and Wrabness, Chase Lane B and All Saints C of E Primary School.
