A THANK you reception for the Harwich Shanty Festival has been held for sponsors, supporters and for venue managers who are too busy during the festival to enjoy it.
The event on April 25 was also a chance for the festival committee and community to discuss how to ensure the ongoing success of the festival.
The evening began with a slide show of photos from past videos as well as a video provided by Jack Tars which showed the performances from the last festival in October.
The evening ended with an excellent performance from the Silver Darlings - an all-female crew from Southend – who are on the “favourite festival acts” due to their humour and harmonies.
Food for Thought, a Harwich community café, provided the buffet which was enjoyed throughout the evening.
Donations are always needed to help cover the festival’s escalating costs and any suggestions regarding matters such as car parking provision, minibus drivers, festival volunteers, accommodation and catering are also welcome.
