Owners comments; We knew what we wanted before we even began our search. It took us a long time to find the right one but this cottage exceeded all our expectations. No matter how many times we open the front door to come home we never get bored of the character and striking period features this home has to offer. My partner has always worked from home but myself, more recent. The cottage accommodates us working from home very easily as it has a loft room with power and two good size double bedrooms. In Bradford Street, the community spirit has always been very high but during the current events, I can honestly say I have found the support overwhelming. We have many social media groups so that we can all stay in contact and before the lockdowns, The Angel pub would arrange weekly quiz nights and bake off events. One of my personal favourites was having cooking events with neighbours and the Bradford Street Carnival.

Agent Comment; Bradford street is a truly historic building dating back to 1490. The cottage is believed to have been constructed for the Bocking cloth workers. The cottage is parallel to the road and the front door opens onto the pavement, typical of this type of period property. From the outside, the colours used on the door and window frames really complement the property and give the cottage a nice warm curb appeal. Once inside the home, the jaw dropping attention to detail from the current owners is quite breath taking. My attention was instantly drawn to the solid wooden flooring which looks to be original. The brick surround wood burner and exposed wooden beams call for your attention, however I must say the colours used again by the owners really set the tone for your experience as you work your way through the cottage.

In the kitchen I was not disappointed. This entire room in my opinion is flawless, solid wooden handmade kitchen with wrought iron handles and door hinges in keeping with the period of the cottage, quarry slate tiled flooring, hand made radiators that give the property a lovely modern twist and original internal doors. The kitchen and lounge also benefit from an additional storage cupboard ( please refer to floorplan provided ). From the kitchen you have access out to the rear garden and enclosed staircase.

Making my way upstairs I was extremely excited to take in more of what this property had to offer. Once upstairs you are lead down the hallway by more original wooden flooring and you notice an original structural wooden beam running from the floor to ceiling, withstanding the test of time, truly beautiful. The first room you come to is bedroom two, currently used as a home office with original wooden floors, a few exposed wooden beams and additional storage cupboards and window overlooking the garden. It is an all round comfortable room with lots of space.

Next, you come to the family bathroom, again, original flooring and decorated tastefully with a modern handmade towel rail. If you require extra space in this room or an en-suite you could consult the local authorities and use some of the storage space from bedroom two ( again see floorplan ). Bedroom one overlooks the front and you will notice this room has lots of exposed beams and original flooring, again, a very comfortable size room. Finally you have a pull down ladder that leads you to a loft room which is a very versatile space and is currently used as another office and, and has been used for alternative bedroom which does have a built in bed if required.

Firstly in the garden there is a right of way from right to left, typical of properties from this era. This is a pleasant space with some well established shrubs and a brick built shed at the end and some lovely flower beds that have been made by the current owners. Summer photos of the garden are available upon request.
