KINGS of easy listening Foster and Allen are back serenading fans when they return to Clacton's West Cliff Theatre for a Bonfire Night bonanza.

It's almost 40 years since the duo topped the Irish charts with A Bunch of Thyme in 1978.

They would have to wait another four years for the single to break into the UK top 20.

The lads were touring America when they got the call to fly back to appear on Top Of The Pops.

Mick and Tony's careers suddenly took off.

Old Flames also charted and the launch of their first UK concert tour was boosted by the release of mega hit single Maggie.

Since then they have toured the UK twice a year, as well as playing sell-out shows in U.S.A, Canada, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and even Tasmania.

They had five number one hits 'down under' and starred in their own TV series in Ireland, as well as releasing more than 30 albums and racking up worldwide record sales of more than 20 million.

Foster and Allen are at the West Cliff this Sunday at 7.30pm. Tickets are £22.50 on 01255 433344.
