FREE NHS health checks are being made available to Harwich and Walton residents as part of a pilot scheme.
The checks are available from Borno Pharmacy, High Street, Walton, the Borno Pharmacy, Main Road, Dovercourt, and the Day Lewis Pharmacy in High Street.
Chris French, assistant director for public health at NHS North Essex, said: “We want to make it as easy as possible for people to access the free check”
The health checks target people aged between 40 and 74 who have not had heart problems, strokes, diabetes, chronic kidney disease or who are on medicine for high blood pressure.
The checks will involve measuring blood cholesterol, blood pressure, body mass index and waist measurement.
