A GIRL who died of a rare bone cancer was honoured when her mum opened a new charity shop.
Ronnie Dawson, from Brooklands Road, Brantham, cut the ribbon at the new St Elizabeth Hospice shop in Manningtree on Friday morning, January 4.
Mrs Dawson has helped to raise more than £20,000 for the hospice after its doctors and nurses cared for her daughter Carla who died of bone cancer nine years ago.
She organises the annual Brantham Garage Sale to raise money for the charity.
The shop in High Street is the charity’s 20th and first in Essex.
To donate unwanted items to the shop drop them off between 9.30am-4.30pm from January 4.
