AN MP surprised pupils while on a trip to a primary school when he gave them a impromptu maths lesson.
Bernard Jenkin, MP for Harwich and North Essex, was visiting the Mayflower Primary School in Dovercourt on Friday.
He visited Year 5 and Year 6 lessons before teaching them about Pythagoras’ theorem.
Mr Jenkin said: “I have come to the Mayflower Primary School to congratulate Mr Coppin and the staffing team on receiving an Outstanding Ofsted report.
"He took me round some classes and I was most impressed with the attitudes of the children and staff."
