THE daughter of two survivors of a massive gas blast in Clacton has recalled the moment she found out about the explosion.
David and Hela Davies were at home in Cloes Lane when their house exploded demolishing half of a neighbouring semi-detached property last Wednesday at around 8.30am.
They suffered serious burns to their arms, legs and face and David, 76, was airlifted to Chelmsford’s Broomfield Hospital. Hela, who is in her fifties, is also being treated at the hospital and the pair have now been reunited.
Daughter Erica Wise, of Little Oakley, said: “I just fell to the floor and thought ‘oh my god’.”
