RECYCLING can be a controversial subject. Some people think it is too complicated others that not enough can be recycled.
Tendring Council currently provides collections for card and paper, tins, cans and plastic bottles and food waste.
Despite some disappointment with levels this year the council’s environment boss Nick Turner hopes the future of recycling across the district is bright with new schemes poised to see recycling rates soar.
He said: “It is fair to say recycling rates haven’t quite lived up to expectations.
“But we are very pleased residual waste is down."
