A NEW style post office has opened in Harwich saving the service for the town.
Service seven days a week and long opening hours are just two of the perks at the relaunched Post Office, which has now been moved to Harwich Convenience Stores, in Market Street from its old location on Church Street.
A pair of dedicated counters will be open between 8am and 8pm on Monday to Saturday and from 8am to 4pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
Shop owner Nirosh Fernando, who stepped in to run the post office for Harwich rather than see it lost to the town, said he is excited about the new venture.
“We are hoping it will attract more people into the shop and it is already proving to be very busy,” he said.
