A HARWICH man is cycling 100 miles to give to raise money for a charity in memory of a golfer who died of an undetected heart condition.
Gavin Lewis, 34, is taking part in the Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100 in August for Cardiac Risk in the Young.
He is taking part in the ride in memory of 28-year-old Marcus Armstrong who died in May 2006 from an undiagnosed heart condition.
After his death his family started fundraising for Cardiac Risk in the Young and provided screening within Harwich for hundreds of young people.
Gavin took part in the screening and was found to be fit and well however members of his family including his wife did have heart conditions picked up.
He said: "I now want to give something back to CRY and to the family of Marcus for saving many lives with these screenings."
