A COMMUTER says a “substandard” rail service needs to be improved by train bosses.
Abellio Greater Anglia has come under pressure to improve its services to London after a number of recent delays.
Chris Tye, of Harcourt Avenue, Dovercourt, commutes between the town and London every day. He says he often experiences at least two delays a week.
He said: “This is without doubt the worst we have known the service.
“We had over an hour delays on Monday night on the branch line and delays again on Tueday due to signal failures.
“Harwich needs good transport links and we are being failed at every level with this substandard rail service.”
An Abellio Greater Anglia spokesperson said: "We are very sorry that our recent performance has fallen below expectations.
“As you may be aware there have been a number of causes including engineering works, fatalities, train faults and this morning's signalling problem.
“We are aware how frustrating this is for our customers and have been working with Network Rail to try and improve performance."
