TRIBUTES have been paid to a man who spent his life saving others.
Bill Tillett spent 26 years working for the ambulance service in Essex including in Harwich.
He died after collapsing at his Colchester home, aged 87.
Wife Barbara, 75, said the ambulance service was “embedded” in her husband who served at numerous stations before retiring in 1990.
She said: “He loved being in the service – it was his life.”
