DESIGNS for a long-awaited new village hall, doctors' surgery and 58 homes are set to be unveiled at a public exhibition.
George Thompson Ltd and architect Eurobuild has put together proposals for a field behind allotments in Beaumont Road, Great Oakley, which will be on view this weekend.
The hall, which is thought to have been first mooted for the site 20 years ago, would be designed to passive house principles, meaning it will be energy efficient and cheaper to run than the current hall.
There would also be an extended car park to provide off-road parking for All Saints Primary School.
The doctor's surgery is a new addition to the project to replace the current building in Harwich Road.
Plans will be on show at Great Oakley Village Hall in Harwich Road from 11am to 5pm on Friday, Saturday morning, and Monday to Wednesday during post office opening hours.
