A WOMAN is having her haircut to raise money for a cancer ward.
Julie Travers, 55, of Eves Court in Dovercourt is having her shoulder-length locks trimmed as short as possible in aid of Colchester General Hospital’s Marry Barron Suite because a close family member is suffering from terminal cancer.
Mrs Travers said she was not nervous about the drastic trim which will take place at Salon 10 in Wick Lane, Dovercourt at 1pm on Friday July 31.
She said: “The ward is very close to my heart and I wanted to make people aware it is not only the people with cancer suffering but the family too.
“Really they need a new building which would cost £4million and I just wanted to do my bit."
