In Case You Missed It in Friday's Standard:
A POPULAR beer festival which draws punters from across the country has been cancelled for the first time in its 13 year history.
This year’s Harwich and Dovercourt Bay Winter Ale Festival will not take place after the venue, the Kingsway Hall, was closed to events.
The trust running the hall stood down last month and festival organisers were unable to find a suitable alternative in time.
The event was due to take place in December.
Jeff Luesley, chairman of Tendring CAMRA, said: “The team was incredibly upset at having to make this decision but there was simply no choice.
“We will now be working towards the 2016 festival and everyone is determined to make it a very special event.”
