A MOTORCYCLIST in his 30s suffered leg and back injuries during a crash with a pedestrian in Dovercourt.
Parkeston Road was left blocked following the crash, close to the junction with Fryatt Avenue, at 2.20pm.
The road was closed in both directions while emergency services dealt with the incident.
An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a 999 call to reports that a motorcyclist had been injured in an incident on Parkeston Road.
“A land ambulance and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance critical care team provided treatment at the scene to a man, thought to be in his 30s, who had suffered suspected leg and back injuries.
"He was taken to Colchester General Hospital by land ambulance for further treatment.
"But thankfully his injuries aren’t thought to be life-threatening and we wish him the best for his recovery.”
Police were also called to the scene by ambulance crews.
A spokesman for the force added: "Officers attended and found a moped that had been in collision with a pedestrian.
"The rider of the moped was taken to hospital."
