CARNIVAL goers struck their best pose in the hope of being crowned the winner of a selfie competition.
Selfie - Gemma Heath won second place
The Guy Carnival returned to Harwich at the end of last month with its traditional “big heads” and spooky parade.
The popular festival, which has run annually for the past 160 years, saw hundreds of people of all ages turn out in fancy dress.
Third - Kalie Steward came in at third place
As part of the carnival a selfie competition was held.
An array of selfies were posted to the event’s Facebook page and judges Cheryl Thompson and Betty Holbrook picked three winners of the best snap.
The winners were Archy Mackillop, Gemma Heath and Kalie Steward who were awarded prize money of £20, £10 and £5.
A Guy Carnival spokesman said: “We are so pleased to see that you embraced the Guy Carnival selfie competition and three winners have been selected. The selfie competition will return next year in the meantime, take a look at the variety of photos that have been uploaded.”
