STUDENTS were treated to a visit from a children’s television presenter to judge a high school’s photography competition.

Naomi Wilkinson, who has presented programmes including Wild and Weird, on the BBC, and Fingertips, on ITV, visited Harwich and Dovercourt High School.

She visited the school to judge the school’s Amazing Angles Photo Competition and present prizes to the winners.

She said: “I had a wonderful day visiting Harwich and Dovercourt High School having had the unenviable task of judging their photography competition.

“There were so many excellent entries that fulfilled the Amazing Angles criteria and it was a real treat to be asked to hand out the prizes to the very deserving winners.

“I’m delighted this school is encouraging their students to be creative, imaginative and tap into their artistic skills with this annual competition.”

The competition was open to Harwich and Dovercourt High School pupils and staff, as well as other local primary school pupils.

The winner from Harwich and Dovercourt High School was Isla Grubb, and the staff winner was support assistant Anna Day.

The winner from the primary school category was Harry Newman.

Andrew Dace, library manager, said: “We were extremely fortunate to have someone of Naomi Wilkinson’s reputation judge the competition and visit our school.
