STYLISH students and teachers strutted down a catwalk to a packed audience as part of a hairdressing show.

The Harwich and Dovercourt High School Academy Hair Show saw hairdressing students create looks as part of their assessments for their qualifications before holding a catwalk event.

The event was judged by Alter Ego Hair Design, in Colchester, Raymond’s Hair Studio, in Dovercourt, and Carmel Tate City and Guilds IQA.

Rachel Pasquale, 17, was the winner with model Frankie Bennett.

The glamorous section was won by Courtney Currie where she created beautiful pin curls on her model, Cindy Campbell.

The stunning men’s cut and finish was modelled by Huy Dinh and was cut and styled by Rachel Pasquale.

The rising star award went to Taylor Roberts who created a bun with curls on little Paige Elmer.

A Harwich and Dovercourt High School spokesman said: “The crowd erupted when headteacher Mrs Finch took to the catwalk as a Seventies disco diva.

“The winner of this category was Sapphire Davids on teacher Miss Burney where she rocked Biba style curls dressed in an orange flared jump suit.

“There was even a category for Harwich’s Top Model and it was won by the Mrs Parker, head of performing arts at the school.”

The overall winner was unanimously awarded to Rachel Pasquale, winner of two other awards.

Rachel said she was shocked, happy and could not stop smiling and is very proud of being a Harwich and Dovercourt High School hairdressing student.
