HUNDREDS of bargain hunters flocked to the centre of Manningtree for the return of a popular antiques market.

Manningtree’s Vintage and Collectables Market was held in South Street on Saturday.

There were 50 traders in the street and inside the Masonic Hall opposite the Red Lion.

It was full of timeless treasures, quirky clothing, and niche ornaments including a decorative plate thought to date back to 1833.

This is the second year running

the unique market has been held in the town.

It will be running on the first Saturday of every month between May and

October.

The event is run by Manningtree Business Chamber with the aim of boosting visitor numbers to the town.

Mel Winning, of Manningtree Business Chamber, said: “It went so well. We were so lucky with the weather and the

market looked absolutely beautiful and we had a fantastic turnout as it was very busy.

“I think everybody who came had a great day.

“Some antiques dealers also came and I think everyone was really interested.”
