STUDENTS have pitched their own World Cup song they hope could be England's anthem to this year's sporting spectacular.

Youngsters taking part in the London Bus Theatre Company's feature film and drama project in Harwich filmed a selfie style music video for the world football tournament.

They've used a catchy chorus sung by fans at club terraces across the UK and added in their own musical melody and rap.

Now on Youtube they are hoping the video for the song, Everywhere We Go, will go viral and become the unofficial England song for the World Cup, which kicks off on June 14.

Chris Turner, film director, said: "The feature film is funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

"As a adjunct to the feature film they like you to do a separate self-motivated project.

"We said we would do a social media thing and we thought we would do a selfie World Cup Song.

"Then they got it together in about an hour and I helped out with the rap.

"The chant is from the terraces - we used that and put it together with a beat to it."

Harwich and Dovercourt High School pupils Macy Levett and Darian Cooper front the video with other students singing and jumping behind them.

Chris said he approached the Football Association to ask if they had an official England World Cup song this year but was told they wouldn't.

He added: "No-one famous is doing an England World Cup song, there is nothing in it for them.

"But for us it's great for the kids to do this.

"The point is to raise their levels of aspirations.

"Macy wants to be a director so I got her to film it on an iPhone X - that's a better camera than the one I had for my first film.

"When the FA announced the team with kids in their gardens saying the names - we were thinking along the same lines it seems when we did the video."

Fifa has announced it's official song for the World Cup in Russia as Live It Up by Nicky Jam, featuring Will Smith and Era Isterefi.

American singer Jason Derulo has launched his song Colors as the Coca-Cola song for the tournament.
