RESIDENTS of Manningtree, Mistley and Lawford will be in for a treat as the spectacular Fun At The Furze day returns to town.

The three councils in the area have once again organised a series of incredible attractions for adults and youngsters alike.

From cheerleading demonstrations and live music to bouncy castles and an inflatable assault course - there is something for everyone.

Festivities will take place at Furze Hill Recreation Ground in Mistley on Sunday, June 10 between noon and 6pm. Mistley Parish Council chairman Martin Rayner said he is hopeful it will be a successful day.

Mr Rayner said: “The councils have agreed to fund it every two years since 2012.

“The feature this year which I think will be a winning activity is the inflatable assault course.

“The last push before the event is to make sure people know about it and we are also sorting out the final details.

“This is also the first year we are holding a car boot sale at the event for local people.”

There will be live music from local band Keystone and the 1940s music group Fox, Wiggle and Sass will be performing. Jade Mayjean - who previously appeared on The Voice - will also be singing live at the event.

Aside from singing, there will be dance demonstrations from Debbie Millar Dance School and cheerleading demonstrations from HRC All Stars.

For children, there will be bouncy castles and slides, bungee trampolines, a helter-skelter, climbing wall, sumo suits and an inflatable assault course.

A soft play area and trampolines can also be enjoyed by youngsters all for an wristband charge of £5 per child.

In addition, there will be face painting, sand treasure hunt, hourly puppet shows, rugby and football activities and more.

A range of food and drink stalls will be available so guests can stay refreshed during the event.

To save visitors from parking there will be a free round-robin bus which will operate between Furze Hill, Long Road, Colchester Road, Manningtree High Street and The Walls. Furze Hill Car Park will be closed all day, other than for Blue Badge holders.
