FIRE station to open its doors to families and wannabe firefighters on Saturday.
Dovercourt Fire Station in Fronks Road is hosting its annual open day from 10am to 4pm.
But as well as inviting the general public for a look around the station and the fire engines, the day will also be for anyone considering joining as an on-call firefighter as part of the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s recruitment campaign.
In two years time the station will no-longer have day-crews, only on-call firefighters responding to emergencies.
To become an on-call firefighter you must live or work within five minutes of an on-call fire station, be over 18 and be physically fit.
