A MAN has admitted sharing an explicit video of a woman online without her permission.

Kieran Oxley had posted two versions of the same video on the internet where it was watched by more than 700 people.

The victim was only notified about what had happened when she received a message from a stranger on Facebook saying he had seen the film on another site.

Days before the video was posted in May, Oxley had flown into a rage after discovering the woman had been seeing another man.

Oxley, of Bellfield Avenue, Brightlingsea, and the victim were not in a relationship at the time.

He threw a mug which smashed into a wall and damaged a nearby fan.

The 20-year-old then sent a series of incredibly offensive messages to a member of the victim’s family attacking the woman’s character.

He admitted disclosing private sexual films with intent to cause distress - commonly known as revenge porn - criminal damage and sending communication of an offensive nature when he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.

Philip Pearson, prosecuting said: “He lost the plot and picks up items and throws them.

“He then sends the messages which are incredibly offensive calling her unstable.

“They are disgusting in content.

“The next she heard was when she received a Facebook message from somebody she doesn’t know saying: ‘I think I found you on a website.’ She has never spoken to this person before.

“She clicked on the link he sent and found photos from her Facebook profile and the video.”

Oxley did have permission to film the video at the time but had never asked if it was ok to share it publicly. In an initial police interview he said he said he did not think the site he posted it to was publicly accessible.

Magistrates declined jurisdiction of the case saying it was too serious for them to deal with.

He will next appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on August 21 where he will be sentenced.

Oxley has been released on conditional bail until then.

He must not go to the street where the victim lives in Colchester or contact her or any other prosecution witness in the case.
