A BRITISH summer seaside spectacle is returning to Dovercourt for the second year running.

The Beside the Seaside Festival is bringing a host of traditional seaside entertainment and family sporting activities to Dovercourt on Sunday from 11am to 6pm.

For the event there will be a live music stage featuring some of the brightest unsigned talent from across the region as well as craft stalls, beach sports and family friendly activities.

A Beside the Seaside spokesman said: “Last year was a huge success with a number of people remarking that they have never seen Dovercourt Seafront so busy.

“This year will be a very similar event but with additional food, drink and craft stalls and a number of extra activities for the whole family to enjoy.”

The secret beach huts theme is making a comeback and visitors can expect to see anything from art, craft and dance workshops, storytelling, face painting and an escape hut run by Harwich Escape Rooms.

On the main stage there will be performances by Pet Needs, Ransoms, Elephant Jane, Leyline Pass, Poppy Scarlett, Denial Twist and musicians from Harwich-based Rock School.

Aside from musicians, visitors will be treated to performances by Isaac and Andi from Limitless Dance, who will be teaching a variety of basic, foundational breaking moves to give both a physical and mental workout challenging strength, balance, coordination and creativity.

They will also be showing everyone what they can do if you continue to practice the skills you learn in their workshop.

Visitors will also be also to make abstract artwork and take a look around huts run by the Harwich Society and New Heritage Solutions.

For children, there will be a treasure hunt, food, drink, and craft stalls, donkey rides, sandcastle and crazy golf competitions,

There will also be additional activities at the Dovercourt Skate Rink and from Quiver Windsurfing at Dovercourt Boating Lake.
