A FAMILY has been left devastated after a horrific motocross accident has caused a dad-of-two to be paralysed from the chest down.

Craig Manning, 35, and his Suzuki RM250 entered the Farleigh Castle Races in Bath, on Saturday, with his partner Laura supporting him.

It was the 10 year anniversary of the races and Craig had worked on his bike for a year to fulfil his lifelong ambition to take part.

Tragedy struck when Craig had a serious accident.

He was flown by air ambulance to a hospital in Bristol where he remains.

Craig lives in Main Road with his partner Laura, 30, and their two children.

Laura, who is by Craig’s side every day, said: “I would like to thank everyone for the massive amount of support they have given us. It is overwhelming and amazing.”

A Just Giving page set up to help Craig and his family has raised more than £10,000.

Fellow racers are also auctioning racing equipment on the Farleigh Castle Races Facebook page to raise money for Craig.

One of the messages read: “We have been kindly donated a fantastic Fox CCM Stephen Sword kit to help raise money. Bidding will close on Monday.”
