HARWICH'S own Halloween house is opening for charity for the last year.

Sue Bridge has decorated her 17th century home in Kings Quay Street in Harwich with ghosts and ghouls and creepy decorations - with all money raised this year going to the Harwich RNLI.

The spooky setting has been an annual tradition for Sue, who began collecting decorations since 1990.

Every year she opens her doors for more than a week to the public with money from the entry donations going to a different charity each year.

She said: “Last year went very well and hope this year will have more people come to see it.

"Again its been just me transforming my lounge and dining room but its nearly finished so the hard work is behind me now.

"The biggest headache for me has been the cost of 1200 batteries but I managed it, just.

"But this year will be a sad one as its going to be my last.

"It's for another good cause - The RNLI Harwich Lifeboat.

"It's my last one as it's really down to buying so many batteries and the build up of my collection of so many props over the years has taken up my four floors, props are in every space I can find.

"Cupboards, wardrobes, under beds, behind doors are all overflowing with boxes.

"Hopefully this year, as its the last, will be the best ever."

The Halloween house opens from Sunday until Halloween from 12noon to 9pm with animated displays and lights on from dusk.
